Food for Good FAQ’s

All Food for Good donations come from local grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, gardens and/or farms.

Look for our sign; distributions are generally outside unless prevented by poor weather. In which case, there will be an alternate location specified. Our wonderful and friendly volunteers are there to help; find great conversation and make new friends! Food types and amounts vary daily. Sometimes we have enough to feed the whole neighborhood; other days, offerings are small. BYOB/B (Bring your own bag or box); choose the items your household will use or want to share with others. Come away feeling fulfilled with filling bellies, and helping to save the unnecessary waste of perfectly edible food into our landfill! That’s all there is to it!

Anyone! There are no eligibility requirements. Come to as many distributions as you’d like (there are at least five per week!). Food for Good really is free food for all! The goal of every distribution is to find all the perfectly edible and usable food a home, without unnecessary waste. We only ask that you take what you (and your household) will consume, or can share with others.

Any food that is past the point of freshness for human consumption is given to local farmers. In some cases, the leftovers are composted. Any dry/packaged goods are redistributed at the next distribution.
